Camper tape question

First of all, I'd just like to say that my noogleberry came in today!!!  I'm so excited!!!

My husband and I cut some camper tape and applied it around the med. domes but ran into a problem.  We are having a problem getting a good seal when we connect the two pieces of camper tape on the dome.  We cut about a 15 inch strip and started laying it around the rim, and did our best to connect the two pieces evenly when they touched at the end.  We then put them on and started to pump.  As we pumped we would see the breasts instantly plump up for a split second then return to normal.  My only guess is that we are losing air somehow...

Anyways, do yall have any tips on how to solve this problem?  Is there a particular way to cut this tape?

Tonight, we will just pump without it.  I cannot imagine that 1 or 2 nights pumping with just the bare cups will cause any sort of serious damage.

Also, we took a before picture and got some measurements.  We are going to take pictures/measurements once a week and post them here to keep everyone updated.  And if all goes well with this system we might do a step by step guide with pictures and text to help the new comers out

Well, I've gotta say that, that is very helpful of you to have weekly pics and text to assist any newcomers.  Aaaw!    As for the camper tape, I think someone had suggested putting the outside half on 1st and as you do, make sure you're stretching it so it stays taut.  Press firmly as you go before wrapping the other half across the rim of the cups.  At least that's what I got from it.  Another tip is to make sure you use a lil lube where the rims touch the skin to keep a tight seal against your chest.

I'm not quite sure I understand the "outside half" part...  Am I suppose to cut two different strips?

Let me add a few more pieces of info:

The camper tape I have is 1 and 1/4 inches wide, and 7/16 inches thick.  (Is that too thick?)

When I applied it, I cut a single piece (14-15 inches) and lined it around the bottom of the med. domes.  I did my best to make the dome hit right in the middle of the camper tape strip, placing roughly half of the tape inside the dome and half of the tape outside of the dome.  My problem came about when I tried to seal the two ends together.  Picture me starting at 12 o'clock, I moved around the clock, and once I got back to 12 I had a hard time getting a seal.

If anyone could take a picture of the bottom of their dome with camper tape on, I might be able to solve this problem without anyone really having to type anything.  I don't mind trial and error, but I've already tossed about 2.5 ft of this tape in the garbage because I messed it up.  I don't want to go through 2 full rolls of this tape just to figure it out.

I just bought some camper tape today and I have not had any problems with suction. My tape is much narrower than yours. I believe it is about 1/4in width. I'm not sure exactly because I threw the bag away. It isn't very thick but it has made a huge difference in comfort. I don't know what the other person means by 2 strips either. I just used one strip and I put it as close as I could to the part that hits my chest. I had to sort of tear it every few inches or so to make the straight tape fit on a round dome but it met up and sealed well enough. It was a lot easier to get suction this time, but I find it seems to create a slow leak. I use a large nursing bra to hold my domes in place and the flap of the nursing bra clamps the tubing to maintain suction. When I feel the pressure becoming too light, I'm just straightening the tubes out and pumping a few times and then positioning the bra back in place. Good luck with your noogling and tape!

Um, OK sorry for confusion then.  This is just using 1 strip.  Just follow the link I gave and read what sissy says at the bottom of the thread (Feb 3rd).

Try overlapping the 2 ends of the camper tape...you may be losing suction because of the gap between the 2 ends.  if you want, you can also try cutting a little piece to fit in between the 2 ends - but always go a bit bigger.  overlapping them somehow doesn't cause you to lose suction, having no tape does...
