My Experience with NB

I have been using the NB for about 10 days now and it has been trial and error for me. I have now got the hang of it and pump away with confidence lol.

I ordered the double domes, so I can pump both breasts at the same time.

My right breast is smaller than the left one and I noticed when pumping, that I fill the left dome much quicker than the right one. I did originally think of pumping the right breast on its own for maybe 10 mins or so before wearing both domes, however I found a simpler way of doing it.

I put on the domes and pump both to get suction. Once the domes feel secure, I take hold of the tubing coming out of the left dome and fold it in half  between finger and thumb to stop the suction. I hold it like that and continue to pump, pumping out the right dome on its own. I then release the tubing and continue to pump both breasts. I find this evens out the breasts more, and then when removing the domes, the breasts both look and feel the same.

It saves an awful lot of time doing it this way, rather than pumping the smaller breast on its own and at least this way, the left breast is still receiving its suction at the same time.

I'll have to try this.  My right side is smaller than my left as well.

Me as well..my right side is smaller than left.I'll try the way u guys do it.

My right is smaller too, I did similar to what you describe with Brava. I literally did it for only 2 days and my right was bigger for weeks! Be careful!

(They're pretty even now though)

Statistically, the left breast is larger on most women.  (I learned this in an Anatomy & Physiology class.) 

I think mine are fairly even, so I guess I'm lucky in that regard.  :-)

My right is smaller too, but not noticeable by looking , by feeling though.... Will order my Nb this week but won't be using it until march..
will let u gals know how i get along......

Hi Nicky,

I've been a devoted user for more than a year now and I can tell you with certainty that I used to do almost the same thing. I would pump to get suction and then pinch off the tube until bot were filled equally. Once I could see the same amount of volume pumped I would give it 1 more pump then release to equalize the pressure. Then I would pump as usual and my girls are very happy to be "twins" LOL.

that's so weird! is there a scientific reason why the right side is usually smaller than the left?

Well my right side is bigger than my left.  This is from favoring the right side while nursing all 5 of my lovely children.

This is the method I've been using too!  Any it's my right that's smaller than my left.... although genetically I'm not entirely sure that's how I am.  I had a shoulder operation a few years ago, and with the inflamation and wot not, everything on the left swelled.  Although it did subside it left me just a little 'lopsided'.  I'm not far off some form of symmetry, although I've been pretty busy just lately and haven't had the chance to pump that often.

I intend upgrading to the large domes in the not too distant future
