GLUING THE RINGS TO THE CUPS

Dear All! For those of you who would prefer to glue the rings to the cups or are having problems with the large rings, the following information will be of interest to you.

Ive been experimenting with glues and our foam sheets and rings and a glue that works well is called Evo-Stik multi-purpose instant contact. Its only about £2.99 for a fairly large can and it will stick either foam sheets together or you can stick the foam rings to the base of the large cup with it. It is important to use it like this:

1. Apply a generous even coat of glue to each surface being glued.
2. Wait for about 15 minutes for the glue to be dry to the touch or slightly tacky.
3. Line up the 2 surfaces and push together firmly. It will grab and stick instantly and you'll only get one attempt!
4. Allow 24 hours for it to set properly although you could use it before.

Tips: 
The can of glue comes with a brush inside it and it is easy to apply.
It is important to wait until at least 15 minutes after applying the glue to each surface.
You could probably increase the height of the rings and depth of the cup by glueing the special foam sheets (available from me) to the base of your foam rings.

Can you still wash the rings when they are attached to a cup?  I use oil or cream on my breasts when pumping and the rings do get soiled.

Hi Lynn, the glue is solvent based and resistance to water etc so there should be no problem with washing them.

I can't keep the suction for more than 30 seconds with either medium or large cups fitted with soft rings. It freaks me out to glue the rings. What if the problem has to do with the shape of my chest? My cups would then become almost unusable.

Has anyone ever regretted to have glued the rings? I tried putting tons of oil and cream.

if you are putting tons of oil
this was the problem with me too
you have to bend as much as you can while sitting down and the hold the cups with one hand and put pressure on the with that one hand and then pump

the bending over really helps since it alows you to get as much boob as possible so
try that
it worked for me
  also you say you can hold it for more then 30 min or sec then keep pumping more frequently to get a long hold or use a clamp or rubberband lol ....hey it works ok lol....to hold the tubing

Is this sold in the US?  If not, can you recommend anything for us here?

The glue they are talking about can be bought anywhere, Kmart, Home Depoe etc. Lots of different brands. On a different post I was saying I went to Home Depoe and bought weather stripping that has a sticky side. You can get 1/4" or 1/2" wide and comes 6 feet long or so and cost acouple dollars. That way you can put it on and take it off anytime. Some areas I put 2 layers on like on the part that rubs my ribs on the top. I have glued mine on so they are permenant now that I see where I want it.

I've never been able to get the large rings to stay on my xl cups, and they were supposed to work on both.  I tried the yoga mat, but it may be too thick for me.  Tomorrow I'll get some weather stripping to see if that works....ladies you are all so helpful, I love this forum!

I've looked everywhere for this evo stik glue and come up with nothing here in the states. Is there another brand that anyone has used in the US that worked as well as the evo stik. I want to have some on hand for when the new rings come out.

For the gals in the states that can't get the glue suggested on here locally, after many many test and much money, I finally found a glue that works fantastic on the rings. It's liquid nails and comes in a small beige and white tube at the local stores like lowes or home depot. I put a bead on the ring itself and then after putting the cups in the rings added a think layer over the rims to fill in the remainder of space between the ring and the rims of the cups. so they are glued underneath and on top for added support. It dries to a soft finish with some give and holds fantastic so far, 1 week and counting. I'm going to try and include a pic so you can recognize it.

A hot glue gun works well too.  I used mine on the high setting, just put the cup inside the ring then gently pull the edge of the ring back and shoot some hot glue under the upturned edge, making sure not to miss any spots, if you want you can also apply a small bead to the top edge where the foam meets the plastic to give it a double seal.  The hot glue dries with a smooth finish, and if the rings wear out and leak like my L's did with a little effort you can pull the rings back off and the glue will peel or clean off of the plastic fairly easily.  I just recently pulled the rings off my L's so I could use them again, the rings leaked, but the cups are still in good shape, just hurts to use them without any padding.  Think I'll go pick up some weather stripping, I was thinking about trying that before I read someone else uses it, now that I know it works for others I'll give it a try too.
